About Pilates
Created by Joseph Pilates in the early twentieth century, Pilates is a strategically designed exercise system. Joseph Pilates originally coined his system "Contrology" and it wasn't until after his death that Contrology became known as Pilates.
"Joe" designed Contrology to correct imbalances, improve posture, and heal general ailments in the human body. Over time, Pilates has become one of the most popular cross-training activities for athletes of all kinds.
Pilates is a full body workout, incorporating spinal mobility, and developing core muscles to support that mobility. Pilates emphasizes concentration, control, breath, core, precision, flow, and centering of the body and mind. Pilates uses all muscles in the body and leaves you feeling invigorated!
